For myself, I was a high school math teacher and coach who lived a very active and independent life until I was diagnosed seventeen years ago (January 1999) with ALS. Even though I have been blessed with a slow progression, I am now relying on family, friends and professional home care givers to assist me with my daily routine tasks. Showering, getting dressed, and even eating, things that most people take for granted, are difficult and frustrating tasks for me alone. If it wasn’t for the support of the Dennis Sehorn Foundation my quality of life wouldn’t be what it is today.
I can’t say enough how much this wonderful foundation has meant to my family. Until a cure is found, I know that the love and support of others will enable me to continue fighting this horrible disease.
Again, THANK YOU Dennis Sehorn Foundation and everyone who has helped my family and me out, so that I’m able to live my day-to-day life as normal as possible!
